Monastery & Basilica

The Belmont Monastery

The Belmont Abbey monastery has been home to Roman Catholic Benedictine monks since 1876. The monks dedicate themselves to “opus Dei,” the work of God, both within their community and on the college campus.

OUR CAMPUS BASILICA

The Mary Help of Christians Basilica is the beating heart of campus. It’s open for students and visitors to join the Benedictine monks for liturgies, or for personal prayer and reflection. The basilica was built in 1892 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
