海角社在线 Launches Master of Science in Nursing Leadership Program
Today 海角社在线 announces its new online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Leadership degree. Healthcare professionals are in high demand, and Belmont Abbey is answering the call to create qualified leaders in healthcare. Belmont Abbey launched a pre-licensure Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2021 and an RN-BSN program earlier this month. The inaugural MSN in Leadership offers nurses a seamless path to furthering their education and advancing their careers.
鈥淎s an academic institution, we鈥檙e responding to the nursing crisis by implementing programs to develop students into qualified healthcare professionals. We are addressing the need for more healthcare leaders and preparing them for positions as distinct leaders in and out of the boardroom or C-suite. This is where the MSN in Leadership comes in, by allowing registered nurses to become connected to practicing leaders in informatics, health systems, clinical education, or health science and nursing academia and advance their careers and network before graduation,鈥 says Dr. Carolyn Harmon, Dean of Nursing at Belmont Abbey. The MSN at Belmont Abbey places a strong focus on leadership with focal pathways in Executive Leadership, Clinical Leadership, Academic Leadership, Clinical Educator Leadership, or Informatics Leadership. 海角社在线 MSN in Leadership graduates will display an unparalleled commitment to exceptional patient care and leverage compassion to better the lives of others.
海角社在线鈥檚 MSN in Leadership degree explores the connection between faith and healthcare, while providing a solid foundation in ethical leadership, safety science, and healthcare informatics. To be eligible for the program, applicants must have graduated from an accredited nursing program or completed a baccalaureate degree or higher in a related field. Over the course of 8-week semesters, MSN in Leadership candidates will gain the skills and confidence needed to take the next steps in their careers. 鈥淲e are excited to educate the next group of healthcare leaders,鈥 says Dr. David Williams, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at 海角社在线. 鈥淭he MSN in Leadership is designed with current nursing professionals in mind. We know that many of these individuals balance their education with their work and families, so this online program guided by our skilled faculty provides a quality academic experience along with the flexibility that these students need.鈥 The first cohort of MSN Leadership students will begin classes in January of 2023 and the program takes approximately 18 months to complete.
The new MSN in Leadership is part of 海角社在线鈥檚 focus on healthcare, along with the new hospital that is currently under construction on the college鈥檚 property in partnership with CaroMont Health. The facility will open in 2023 and will provide MSN in Leadership candidates the opportunity to familiarize themselves with best practices in the industry while preparing for ethical leadership in the healthcare community. Everything Perfected
On my way into Stowe Hall in the morning, I’ll聽stop聽to watch the goldfinches, hummingbirds, and tiger swallowtails enjoy聽the flowering shrubs outside.
If you鈥檝e never seen a Tiger Swallowtail caterpillar, they look nothing like their metamorphosed selves. Green and oddly lopsided, with weird eyespots at the bulbous end of their body, these critters might give us a puzzled moment of pause, but they probably won鈥檛 fill us with the same awe as delicate, yellow wings trimmed in black lace.
So after watching those adult swallowtails in the flowers outside Stowe, I started thinking about the difference between those goofy, green creatures and their elegant counterparts. In grade school, I learned that when a caterpillar builds its cocoon and goes through metamorphosis, its body actually melts down within the protective pod, forming a disconcerting, caterpillar soup, rich with preserved genetic code. And it鈥檚 from this liquified mess that an apparently new creature flowers into completion, essentially from the cells up. One form becomes another, but it鈥檚 a much more radical process than I鈥檇 imagined as a child.
This caterpillar being recreated anew is what happens when we say聽鈥測es鈥 to God in the present, even in small ways. We take all the jumbled contents of our past and actually perfect them, or, rather, allow God to perfect them. Even the wanderings, which, after all, influenced the people we are today, get poured into the present affirmation, informing it and finding in its 鈥測es鈥 a redeeming mercy.
As I watched the lovely wobble of butterflies in the flowers, I realized that when we give ourselves wholly to God, He makes use of everything we are and have, transforming it. The fresh form, our new life in Christ, might feel entirely different, but no part of our past experience is wasted. Even those times in our lives we may consider now with embarrassment or shame: He can make everything work to the good, to today鈥檚 beautiful metamorphosis.
Wishing you hope and bright wings!
